Super Dune II Classic Features List
 ͼ

Super Dune II Classic features the following fixes and improvements
compared to the original Super Dune II:

   General changes:

     * The selection options for the Mercenaries and the Fremen have been
swapped. It seems more logical since the Fremen are allied with
the Atreides and the Mercenaries are affiliated with the Ordos.
     * The Mercenaries now have the Ordos Mentat and Ordos announcer
        voice.
     * The Fremen have the Atreides Mentat and Atreides announcer voice.
     * Added new briefings for all campaign missions.
     * Intro cinematic is skipped at startup.
     * After the final mission of a campaign is completed, the game
switches to the credits sequence, skipping the Atreides closing
        cinematic.

   Interface changes:

     * Added the new title/main menu screen.
     * Fixed Mentat facial animations for all sides.
     * Mentat screens now have appropriate background music.
     * Mentat databases have been updated so that all units and
structures encountered in a mission have appropriate database
        entries available in that mission.
     * Added glowing selection boxes to the production/starport screen.
The boxes are coloured according to the currently selected side's
'ally' House (e.g. the Fremen are allied with the Atreides, the
Mercenaries are allied with the Ordos and the Sardaukar are allied
        with the Harkonnens).
     * The production/starport screen now shows a Harkonnen and an Atreides
        herald instead of blank spaces.
     * Score screen progress bars now have different colours depending on
        the currently selected side.
     * Conquest map screen now shows the currently selected side's 'ally'
        House heralds.

   Gameplay fixes:

     * Fixed the issue that prevented the Sardaukar and Mercenary players
from properly placing concrete slabs ("concrete bug").
     * To balance the above, Mercenary and Sardaukar structures now take
        increased 'decay' damage.
     * Fixed the issue with regions owned by the Fremen and the
Mercenaries not being displayed on the conquest map ("vanishing
        houses bug").
     * Fixed the issue with the Starport not working for the Fremen,
        Mercenaries and Sardaukar.
     * The announcer now pronounces the word "Mercenary" when a
        Mercenary-related event occurs.
     * Fremen resistance to Deviator gas has been slightly decreased.
     * The Mercenaries are no longer immune to Deviator gas.
     * The Sandworms have been made more controllable. You can now order
the Sandworms to Move (not very effective though), Guard and Area
Guard. In Guard mode, the Sandworm will aggressively hunt and
attack any target, including friendly units, while in Area Guard
mode it is less aggressive and tends not to attack allied units.
By default, all Fremen-owned Sandworms in the Fremen campaign are
now set to Area Guard to prevent them from attacking other
        Fremen-owned units.

   Graphics and sound fixes:

     * Fixed a broken frame in the Gun Turret animation.
     * Fixed incorrect colours on the House of Ix structure.
     * Removed cracking noises from certain digitized sound effects.

   Mission fixes:

     * Fixed the typos in attack team scripts that prevented the AI from
assembling attack teams of light and heavy vehicles ("team bug").
     * Fixed the typos in some missions that resulted in certain
pre-placed units not appearing on the map.
     * Fixed all errors related to structures that were placed on
        unbuildable terrain.
     * Fixed all errors related to units that were placed on top of
        structures.
     * Fixed all errors related to spice blooms that were placed on
        inappropriate terrain.
     * Removed extra pre-placed units on certain maps that exceeded the
limit for their respective unit types (Sandworms, Saboteurs).
     * Fixed the error which caused the game to crash with a "No more
scenarios!" message when the first mission of each campaign was
        restarted.
